HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS: Unless a student is a Communication Studies major or minor, they will more than likely never be taught how to effectively communicate with others-and their academic, personal, and professional success will suffer because of it. Having popularly taught Interpersonal Communication courses for 13 years at community, state, and private colleges in combination with being a highly-trained Certified Professional Coach, Clint introduces students to the single most important communication concept in healthy relationships; who they are being while communicating-the 93% of their communication that is non-verbal. He then invites students to choose ONE person in their lives and start noticing “who they are being” in their interactions with them.
SELF-CARE: With the high demands of being a student, it can be easy for them to neglect taking good care of themselves. This, in turn, can affect their health, mood, mental clarify, and sense of purpose. Based upon the research of renowned Integral Theorist Ken Wilber, Clint talks about the importance of nurturing one’s physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual “selves” and suggests that audience members identify ONE of these four areas that would be most useful to focus on nurturing more.
TIME BLOCKING: Students are often overwhelmed because they are either not following a schedule or following one that isn’t efficient. Expanding upon Gary Keller’s time blocking section in his best-selling book The One Thing: The surprisingly simple truth behind extraordinary results, Clint shares a two-part schedule that supports both efficiency and consistency with school, self-care, and relationships and encourages students to identify ONE part of that schedule would be most useful to put into practice.
ACTION: The first three areas of the presentation are designed to provide students with greater insight into what may be contributing to and/or limiting their success and, while awareness is important, it is useless if not put into action. Therefore, Clint challenges students to reflect upon their three previous answers and choose ONE specific and achievable action that, if taken during the upcoming week, would make the biggest difference in their lives. Bonus: Research shows that if someone writes down a goal and is held accountable to it, the chances of them achieving that goal will increase by 79.7%-as a gift for attending, Clint offers to send students an accountability email one week later as well as follow up emails throughout the year with action suggestions from his book The 4 Secrets to College Life Success: How to thrive in your life during and after college.

I have never been more interested or involved in any presentation like I was today. Clint did a great job of relating to the students and giving examples of how we could make different choices that would cause immediate changes and responses.
The best part for me was the beginning to end. Clint brought credibility, experience and connection. It was ALL life changing.
I learned more in this workshop than I have throughout my entire life!
The overall presentation has come as a blessing in my life at this time. I can see myself applying these things on a daily basis for the rest of my life. This not only helps me in education, but also in life in general. Thank you so much.
